Ara h 3 belongs to the 11S globulin (vicilin) seed storage protein family and naturally forms a homologous trimer of about 150 kDa. Although it is not the primary allergen, IgE reactivity to Ara h 3 is detectable in most peanut-allergic patients and it often co-occurs with Ara h 1 and Ara h 2. |
